Behind the Story

Discover the amazing story of two very different families as you follow them back in time. At the end of the Civil War, on the Bellewood plantation, the family of an anti-slavery preacher forms a bond with a family that was previously enslaved there. The two families must decide where their loyalties lie, and in the process, they discover something powerful enough to keep their families together for generations.

What Readers Say

I didn’t expect to be drawn into a mystery element, but the story of discovering old letters and maps was one of my favorite parts. The treasure hunt aspect added adventure while still being grounded in family bonds and Christian values. It’s rare to find a story that combines suspense and spiritual lessons so well.
